Deer Hollow Inn is owned and operated by Lou and Olive Bouault. Olive and Lou live on-site in an apartment on the lower floor of the main house. They have their own kitchen, laundry, bathroom, etc. in their apartment. This allows them to give their guests complete and private use of the rest of the facility.
However, they are available to answer questions and to help out if an emergency situation arises.
Olive is a native of Lewis County, she was born in Centralia, Washington and lived in Salkum, Washington until she was 16 years old.
She lived in Tacoma, Washington for over 20 years and worked as an Executive Administrative Assistant in the Tacoma area until the year 2001 when she decided to pursue her dream and open a Bed & Breakfast. But alas, the bed & breakfast wasn't feasible with the property so it evolved into the Deer Hollow Inn Retreat Facility.
Olive catered weddings and parties for years for friends and family. Her forte is the creative side of setting up tables for beautiful food presentation and in decorating.
Olive and Lou met in 1985 and married in 1986 in Tacoma, Washington where they lived until moving to Chehalis.
Lou is a native of New York City. He was born in Manhattan and lived there until 1961 when he was drafted into the U.S. Army.
Lou spent 27 years traveling the world in the military. He retired in 1988 as a Lt. Colonel. Armor, aviation, and personnel management were among his many responsibilities. The highlight of his military career was his 17 years as an attack helicopter pilot and commander. Lou is a Vietnam Veteran.
After retiring from the military Lou spent 12 years working in Private Security as the Security Manager for the Key Tower high-rise office building in Seattle.
Olive and Lou always loved to entertain guests in their large Tacoma house and
now they feel they have the best of both worlds with a retreat facility. They both enjoy meeting people and look forward to each group and the new friends they make each time a new group stays at Deer Hollow Inn.
Olive and Lou purchased their property in 2001. The estate was formerly owned by William Fuller, a former Senator of Washington, and much respected member of the Chehalis, Lewis County area.
